The Senate will vote today on the GOP’s Continuing Resolution, a bill that would extend funding and prevent government shutdown until September 30. Yesterday, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced he would be voting in favor of the bill, stating “allowing Donald Trump to take even much more power via a government shutdown is a far worse option.” However, if Trump does want a shutdown, he could veto the bill if it makes its way to his desk. “If the president wanted to, he could veto, or not sign, the continuing resolution and get a shutdown anyway. So, this is factually incorrect coming from Senator Schumer,” Tony Kinnett said, investigative columnist for The Daily Signal and host of The Tony Kennett Show.
