কলকাতার মূর্তি কথা || শুভ বিজয়া

The Purbachal Shakti Sangha Puja theme In 2024, the Purbachal Shakti Sangha club created a Durga Puja pandal based on the theme "Kolkatar Murti Kotha," exploring the city's sculptural traditions. The meaning: The phrase plays on the word murti, which can mean a traditional clay idol, a devotional icon, or a street statue made of bronze, marble, or cement. The theme told the story of Kolkata's social, political, and cultural evolution through its public sculptures. Artistic collaboration: The project was a collaboration between renowned theme artist Partha Dasgupta and art historian Debdutta Gupta. Creative detail: The Durga idol itself was reinterpreted to resemble Queen Victoria, while other deities like Ganesh, Kartik, and Lakshmi were crafted with influences from various foreign sculptures.
