Jemimah Rodrigues's marvellous speech at Rashtrapati Bhavan in front of president Droupadi Murmur

Following the Indian team's historic 2025 Women's Cricket World Cup victory, the team was hosted by the President. During this interaction, Rodrigues delivered a heartfelt address where she: Acknowledged the significant strides made in women's cricket, including the introduction of pay parity and the Women's Premier League (WPL), with thanks to the BCCI. Paid tribute to the pioneers of women's cricket who played "without the fame, who did it without the money, who did it without the support and without the recognition," purely for their passion and love of the game. Stated that the current team is "reaping the harvest of what our predecessors sowed" and that the World Cup win belongs as much to them as to the current team. Vowed that the current team would carry forward this legacy and leave Indian women's cricket in an even better place for future generations.
