A massive wildfire in Otsuchi, Iwate Prefecture continues to spread, making it the second-largest forest fire recorded since the Heisei era began. Residents describe sleepless nights and the acute anxiety of evacuation life, as the blaze shows little sign of containment. Among the hardest hit are local cattle farmers whose barns have been destroyed in the flames — leaving them with the agonising reality of being unable to save their livestock. This news23 report by TBS NEWS DIG captures the human toll of the disaster: the exhausted voices of evacuees, the economic devastation rippling through the regional agricultural community, and the urgent questions being raised about disaster preparedness and wildfire response. The scale of the damage and the stories of those who have lost livelihoods overnight underline why awareness of fire risk and emergency readiness remains critical for rural communities across Japan. #OtsuchiWildfire #IwateFire #JapanDisaster #News23 #山林火災 #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
