The Battle of Gallipoli in 1915 remains one of the most consequential campaigns of the First World War, and this documentary unpacks exactly why the Allied invasion failed. From catastrophic strategic miscalculations and underestimated Ottoman resistance to punishing terrain and flawed leadership decisions, every contributing factor is examined through historical analysis and first-hand battlefield accounts. The film also traces the lasting legacy of the campaign — how Gallipoli shaped the national identities of Australia, New Zealand, Turkey, and Britain, redefined military strategy for generations, and became one of history's most studied wartime operations. Key battles, pivotal command choices, and the human stories of the soldiers who fought and died on those shores are brought together in a compelling account of ambition, tragedy, and consequence. #Gallipoli #WWI #MilitaryHistory #ANZACHistory #OttomanEmpire #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
