Resident Evil: Extinction (2007) is the third installment in the sci-fi action horror franchise loosely based on the Capcom video game series. Directed by Russell Mulcahy and written by Paul W.S. Anderson, this entry shifts the series away from dark, claustrophobic labs and cities, plunging it into a sun-bleached, post-apocalyptic wasteland heavily inspired by Mad Max.
