The Immigrant Services Society of British Columbia (ISSofBC) has launched a provincial campaign for World Refugee Day titled "Refugees Are Good for Canada," spotlighting how displaced newcomers actively enrich local economies and communities. Marking the 10-year legacy of Operation Syrian Refugee — which brought roughly 3,600 people to British Columbia — ISSofBC published a comprehensive report featuring personal success stories of former refugees now working as software engineers, biomedical researchers, legal experts, and small business owners across the province. Leadership emphasised that refugees represent a vital, long-term investment that addresses critical labour shortages in healthcare and skilled trades, calling on communities to move beyond viewing newcomers as aid recipients and instead recognise them as civic leaders, entrepreneurs, and essential builders of Canadian society. #WorldRefugeeDay #ISSofBC #RefugeesAreGoodForCanada #BCNews #ImmigrationCanada #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
