Ido is a constructed international auxiliary language created in 1907 to refine Esperanto's perceived flaws, making it easier and more logical to learn. Built by the Delegation for the Adoption of an International Auxiliary Language, Ido eliminated mandatory grammatical agreement and the need for accented characters that troubled early typewriters and printing presses. By drawing from a wider range of European source languages and adopting a more regularised grammar, its designers aimed to create a medium of cross-cultural communication that was both expressive and intuitive. As a direct evolution of Esperanto, Ido offers a compelling case study in linguistic engineering and the optimisation of planned languages. Though it never matched Esperanto's widespread adoption or community size, Ido retains a dedicated following of enthusiasts and scholars who value its streamlined structure and phonetic consistency. Today it stands as a testament to the enduring ambition to bridge global communication barriers through careful, logical language design. #IdoLanguage #ConstructedLanguage #Conlang #AuxiliaryLanguage #Linguistics #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
