Qatar's Foreign Ministry has categorically denied Iranian accusations of detaining pilots, stating the airmen died after breaching Qatari airspace near Al Udeid Air Base in March. Official spokesperson Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al-Ansari described Iran's claims as "misleading," particularly given ongoing diplomatic de-escalation efforts between the two countries. The Qatari statement clarified that Iranian aircraft violated Qatari airspace and targeted areas around Al Udeid Air Base, prompting Qatari forces to take defensive measures in accordance with rules of engagement and international law. The pilots did not respond to communication attempts before their aircraft were brought down. Qatar confirmed that its search and rescue teams conducted extensive operations and recovered the remains of one pilot. Doha stated it coordinated with Tehran to arrange the handover of the recovered remains under international humanitarian law. Notably, Qatar had invited an Iranian team as early as April to review the details and field operations, but Iran did not respond to that invitation at the time. The ministry stressed that Iran's public accusations contradict the spirit of the ongoing diplomatic dialogue aimed at reducing regional tensions. #QatarIran #QatarForeignMinistry #MiddleEastNews #GulfDiplomacy #IranianPilots #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
