Police Officers Gaming with Youth to Build Community Trust | Politieagenten gamen met jongeren

Police officers in Brabant are taking community policing to the next level by gaming online with local youth, breaking down barriers in a relaxed, informal setting. Through popular video game platforms and consoles, officers join young people in virtual missions — shifting the conversation away from street checks and incidents toward genuine, open dialogue. This innovative initiative, featured by Brabantse Blauw, is designed to reduce prejudice, humanise the people behind the uniform, and foster a more positive attitude among young people toward law enforcement. By creating a safe, low-threshold environment built on mutual respect and understanding, the project demonstrates how creative youth prevention strategies and neighbourhood-focused cooperation can contribute to safer, more connected communities. The results speak for themselves: young people and officers now interact regularly in a space where trust, not tension, sets the tone — proving that modern problems sometimes call for surprisingly modern solutions. #CommunityPolicing #BrabantseBlauw #YouthPrevention #GamingForGood #Wijkagent #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
