Fire in the Forest — A 360° VR Documentary on the Wauja People

Fire in the Forest (Fogo na Floresta) is a groundbreaking 360° virtual reality short documentary from Instituto Socioambiental (ISA) and Academia de Filmes, immersing viewers in the daily life and culture of the Wauja (Waurá) indigenous people of the Upper Xingu River. Designed for VR headsets, this intimate experience captures traditional cassava preparation, sacred rituals, and the Wauja's deep-rooted forest stewardship. The film also confronts the mounting environmental threats facing their homeland — encroaching forest fires, climate disruption, and agricultural expansion along territorial borders. By placing the viewer alongside Wauja elders and youth, this unforgettable documentary makes a powerful case for why protecting indigenous land is inseparable from protecting the Amazon rainforest. #VRDocumentary #WaujaIndigenous #AmazonRainforest #IndigenousRights #FogoNaFloresta #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
