The Metrics We Stopped Caring About — and the One We Bet Everything On

Every platform is a set of metrics wearing a product as a disguise. Whatever a platform counts, its creators will chase. So when we built LYKSTAGE, the most important decisions weren’t features. They were the metrics we deliberately stopped caring about. We stopped caring about views. A view sounds like a person watching — usually it isn’t. Three seconds of muted autoplay counts the same as twenty minutes of full attention. A view measures appearing, not watching. We stopped caring about subscriber counts. A subscriber is a number that doesn’t watch — a hundred thousand followers, four thousand actually showing up. Yet whole livelihoods are gated behind that number. This very month, the industry’s biggest platform doubled its wall for new creators. The wall got higher. The number it’s built on didn’t get any more honest. And we stopped caring about virality. Virality is a lottery sold as a strategy. A spike isn’t an asset. A library people keep finishing is. Underneath it all, advertisers pay for exactly one thing: attention. Everything else is proxy. So we bet everything on the metric that measures the real thing — genuine watch time. It accumulates while someone is actually watching, and it’s monetized when the ad served is watched in full. Not a click. Not an impression. A human being, watching, all the way through. And everything downstream changed. Creators count from their very first video — no wall to climb. The creator’s share is allocated first — starting at 45%, rising automatically to 70% as your work reaches more unique viewers. And because attention is the value, the people giving it share in it too — logged-in viewers rewarded after the creator, never out of the creator’s share. Quality started winning — because you cannot clickbait someone into watching twenty minutes. We even wrote it down: the mechanism is now a granted US patent — U.S. Patent No. 12,684,189 — so it can’t quietly become something else. Before you invest years anywhere, ask what a platform counts. Not what it says it values — what it counts. That metric is what you’ll spend your creative life optimising for. We stopped caring about the numbers that measure appearing. We bet on the one that measures attention. And I’d make the same call again. See how it works → apps.lykstage.com/lskx/Marketing Real attention. Real value. For everyone. #CreatorEconomy #WatchTime #FounderNote #CreatorMetrics #VideoMonetization #LYKSTAGE
