Virtual Museum Tour "Grenzen" 2020/21 — Interview with Dr. Christoph G. Schmidt | Museumstour Grenzen – Interview mit Dr. Christoph G. Schmidt

The virtual museum tour "Grenzen" (2020/21) was created as a creative response to pandemic restrictions, replacing a planned bus tour for the German-Danish Friendship Year. Across a series of short films and digital presentations, five selected museums in the German-Danish-Frisian border region were made accessible to audiences online — including the Nordfriisk Instituut in Bredstedt. At the heart of this digital journey is an in-depth interview with Dr. Christoph G. Schmidt, director of the Nordfriisk Instituut. He explores the historical development, cultural characteristics, and everyday coexistence in this unique cross-border region, offering expert insight into questions of identity, minority politics, and the layered heritage that continues to shape this distinctive European space. The project connects regional cultural history with modern digital outreach, providing a compelling window into a shared yet complex border identity spanning Schleswig-Holstein and southern Denmark. #NordfriiskInstituut #GermanDanishCulture #BorderRegionHistory #SchleswigHolstein #MuseumstourGrenzen #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
