The Predestination Paradox | What If Your Future Created Your Past?

What if your future created your past? The *Predestination Paradox* is one of the strangest ideas in time travel: what happens when travelling into the past doesn't change history… but actually causes it? Evan has a photograph of himself standing beside an old man he has never met. There's just one problem. The photograph was taken decades before Evan was born. As he investigates the mystery, he discovers a broken watch with no clear origin, a mysterious letter written in his own handwriting, and a future version of himself reaching backward through time. What begins as a simple *time travel mystery* becomes a deeper question about **causality, free will, and whether the past can ever truly be changed**. In this video, we explore: • The Predestination Paradox • Time travel and causal loops • The Bootstrap Paradox • Closed Timelike Curves • The relationship between cause and effect • The strange connection between time travel and free will And eventually, Evan discovers something terrifying: He wasn't trying to change the past. *He was the reason it happened.* So here's the question: *If every decision you make was already part of your future… would you still believe you had free will?* Watch until the end and decide for yourself. Then tell me in the comments: *Would you enter a time loop if you knew you could never escape it?* Subscribe to *Pomm* for more strange ideas, impossible questions, science, philosophy, and psychological rabbit holes. ⏱️ CHAPTERS 00:00 The impossible photograph 00:36 Evan meets his future self 00:57 Something feels wrong 01:28 The mysterious watch 02:03 The letter 02:32 Fifth Street 03:03 The accident 03:36 Connecting the clues 04:07 His future can reach the past 04:50 Evan changes the past 05:22 He meets his younger self 05:50 The photograph is created 06:25 The Predestination Paradox 07:16 The watch has no beginning 08:20 The Bootstrap Paradox 08:48 The problem with choice 10:40 What physics says 11:38 The loop is complete 12:44 What if your future created your past? 13:26 Would you enter the loop? #PredestinationParadox #TimeTravel #TimeParadox
