Thudarum Review & Analysis — Mohanlal's Malayalam Drama-Thriller

Thudarum is a Malayalam drama-thriller starring Mohanlal and Shobana, directed by Tharun Moorthy, and it marks a compelling return to emotional depth for its legendary lead. The film centres on Shanmugham, a humble taxi driver whose quiet family life is upended when his cherished vintage Ambassador becomes entangled in a serious police case. What begins as a warm, grounded family drama gradually shifts into a gripping revenge thriller, with the tonal transformation handled carefully through strong direction, measured pacing, and layered character arcs. This review and analysis unpacks Mohanlal's powerful, vulnerable performance — widely praised as one of his most emotionally expressive in recent years — alongside Shobana's understated yet resonant screen presence. Prakash Varma's performance also draws significant attention. The discussion covers Tharun Moorthy's screenplay and direction, the film's cinematography and music, its social themes, action sequences, and the realism that underpins its building suspense. Whether you're a Mollywood regular or new to Malayalam cinema, Thudarum offers a standout cinematic experience well worth unpacking in full. #Thudarum #MalayalamCinema #Mohanlal #RevengeThriller #Mollywood #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
