Rugby Scrum Rules, Roles & Officiating — Module 5 Training Guide | Module 5 : La Mêlée

Module 5 of this rugby officiating course delivers a clear, practical breakdown of the scrum — covering essential principles, player roles, and the key rules referees must enforce to keep play safe and compliant. The module walks officials through how a scrum forms and operates, the individual responsibilities of front-row and supporting players, and the specific cues that should trigger intervention from match officials. Designed for referee and official training programmes, this content sharpens your ability to read a scrum in real time, identify technical infringements, and make confident, consistent decisions under match conditions. Topics include scrum engagement sequences, binding technique, stability requirements, and communication between officials. The goal is to build technical understanding, improve decision-making speed, and support cohesive, well-managed rugby matches at every level. #RugbyReferee #ScrumRules #RugbyOfficiating #RugbyFormation #Arbitrage #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
