THE POWER OF REGARD When Ego Melted, Easy Yoga Returned [Intro] Om Shanti... I am a peaceful soul... In remembrance of Shiv Baba, my heart becomes pure again. [Verse 1] I served with all my heart, I worked through every day, But somewhere deep within me, “My way” began to stay. My knowledge, my achievement, my effort and my name— I forgot that I am only an instrument in Baba’s game. [Pre-Chorus] Pause, my mind, and look within, who is this little “I”? The service belongs to Baba, His power makes me fly. [Chorus] Give regard, give love, see the goodness in each soul. Stay detached, remain loving, let remembrance make you whole. Drop the ego, drop the pride, let sweetness fill your heart. Become a giver, keep giving, let easy yoga be your art. [Verse 2] A senior soul spoke softly, with wisdom born of years: “Learn from those who explain well, and keep them close with regard.” For a moment my mind resisted, “My idea must be right.” Then Baba’s Murli gently asked, “Do you want pride or light?” [Chorus] Give regard, give love, see the goodness in each soul. Stay detached, remain loving, let remembrance make you whole. Drop the ego, drop the pride, let sweetness fill your heart. Become a giver, keep giving, let easy yoga be your art. [Verse 3] At Amrit Vela I sat quietly, but peace was far away. Though I had served throughout the day, my thoughts refused to stay. Before Shiv Baba’s loving image, I whispered through my tears: “Why can’t I feel Your presence? Why am I trapped in fear?” [Bridge] Then came a gentle realization: “Look inside your mind. It is not service that is binding; it is attachment you must find. Work with love, but stay detached. Release the need for praise. Offer every thought to Baba, and walk in peaceful ways.” [Verse 4] I offered all my opinions, I released my need to prove. “Baba, let Your wisdom guide me; let Your love become my move.”
