Manto — Nawazuddin Siddiqui in Nandita Das's Biographical Drama

Manto, directed by Nandita Das, stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui in a gripping biographical drama about Saadat Hasan Manto — one of the most celebrated and fiercely independent short-story writers of the Indian subcontinent. Set against the turbulent backdrop of the 1947 Partition, the film brings to life Manto's unyielding artistic integrity, his relentless battles with censorship, and the deep emotional wounds left by the division of India and Pakistan. Through vivid storytelling, Nandita Das crafts a poignant portrait of a literary icon who wielded his pen to expose uncomfortable truths that society often preferred to ignore. Critically acclaimed and thought-provoking, Manto is essential viewing for lovers of Indian cinema, Urdu literature, and powerful human stories rooted in history. #Manto #NawazuddinSiddiqui #NanditaDas #BollywoodBiopic #PartitionStories #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
