Fitriya Mohamed: Founding the MWSBL for Muslim Women in Sports

Fitriya Mohamed founded the Muslim Women's Summer Basketball League (MWSBL) to create a safe, inclusive space where Muslim girls and women can compete without compromising their faith or identity. A trailblazing sports activist and community leader, Mohamed was driven by her own experiences of underrepresentation in athletics. Through the MWSBL, she built an empowering environment for competitive and recreational basketball, while becoming a powerful advocate for equity and diversity in sports across Canada. Her work continues to break down systemic barriers, ensuring the next generation of Muslim women athletes sees themselves reflected on the court and feels confident pursuing their athletic passions. #MWSBL #MuslimWomenInSports #WomenInBasketball #SportsEquity #FitriyaMohamed #Lykstage #LykstageVideo #LykstageCreator #LykstageCommunity
