The Big Brush | The Improv Collection #5

"bhai ye dekhkar pagal hojayenge sab pehle hi sorry bol raha hu" The Big Brush is the final release of The Improv Collection - A series of very short films produced by ScreenSlay. The Big Brush is our attempt at "disgusting cinema". Written and filmed while shooting the other films, we use one take which is handheld throughout the film to emphasize the chaotic nature of the process the protagonist is inflicting upon himself. We used step printing to amplify the already chaotic nature and undercranked it as well in pure Wong Kar-wai fashion. This film takes method acting to an extreme where the character is the actor and what the character does, the actor has to do it in exactly the same way. We tried to end the film in a dystopian way to further indulge the audience where instances which occur are off-putting for us but normal in the universe where the film is set in. P.S. Comment down your interpretation of the film and the usage of certain elements throughout the film. We hold a watch party for celebrated films daily on our Discord Server.
