"Baap ko mat sikhao." Father: How Not To Make A Film About Grief is the unofficial release of The Improv Collection - A series of very short films produced by ScreenSlay. Father: How Not To Make A Film About Grief is improvisation at its most meta. Initially written as a story about grief and how it affects actors, things quickly took a turn while shooting this film. We aimed to show the extent of method acting and how hard it is for actors to react with emotions for actual situations in contrast with while acting. In between shoots, we realised that the characters are funnier than usual and the tone of the film is getting shifted towards a different spectrum, so we changed the purpose of the film in the middle of the shoot and decided to, as the title says, show "how not to make a film about grief". Shooting in a mockumentary fashion helps divert the theme and makes our intent look more obvious and makes it even funnier. We decided to end the film with an outtake to enforce our meta improvisation to the max. P.S. Comment down your interpretation of the film and the usage of certain elements throughout the film.
