[dt.] Hurghada am Roten Meer, in Ägypten, ist das größte Tourismuszentrum der Region. Auf einer Länge von 20 km bietet das Meer feinste Sandstrände, die in der Regel über moderne Hotelanlagen erreichbar sind. Auch um die Weihnachtszeit sind die Temperaturen noch so hoch, dass Baden im Meer ohne Probleme möglich ist. Wassersport wird in allen Varianten angeboten, sei es Windsurfen, Segeln, Hochseeangeln, Tauchen oder Schnorcheln. Obwohl die schönsten Korallenriffe (oder das was davon noch übrig ist) im Meer vor der Küste liegen, kann man durchaus auch in Ufernähe exotische Fische beim Schnorcheln sehen. Auf eines sollte man sich aber einstellen; der Schlitten des Weihnachtsmannes wird nicht von Rentieren, sondern von Kamelen gezogen! ******** [en.] Hurghada by the Red Sea in Egypt is the biggest tourism center of the region. The sea offers finest sandy beaches on a length of 20 km which are accessible via modern hotel complexes. Also around Christmas time the temperatures are so high that swimming in the sea is possible without any problems. All sorts of water sports, like windsurfing, sailing, deep sea fishing, scuba diving or snorkeling are offered. Although the most beautiful coral reefs (or what's left of it) are in the sea off the coast, you can watch exotic fish while snorkeling near the shore. However, one should not be astonished that the sledge of Santa Claus is pulled by camels instead by reindeer!
