The show explores themes of beauty, social status, and discrimination through the lens of a high school setting. Season 1, Episode 1: "Change" In the first episode of Lookism, we meet Park Hyung-seok, an overweight and unpopular high school student who is constantly bullied by his peers due to his appearance. Hyung-seok endures daily torment, both physical and verbal, and feels completely alienated and hopeless. Desperate to escape his miserable life, he decides to transfer to a new school in Seoul, hoping for a fresh start. On the night before his transfer, something miraculous happens: he wakes up to find himself in a new body—one that is tall, lean, and exceptionally handsome. Confused and shocked, Hyung-seok realizes that he now has two bodies—his original one and the new, attractive one. He soon discovers that when one body falls asleep, the other wakes up. The episode follows Hyung-seok as he navigates his dual existence, learning to experience life from two very different perspectives. With his new body, he experiences kindness, attention, and admiration for the first time. However, his original body remains a reminder of the harsh realities he faced. The show delves into the duality of Hyung-seok's existence and his internal struggle to reconcile these two very different lives. #Lookism #LookismAnime #LookismSeason1 #ParkHyungSeok #WebtoonAdaptation #DualIdentity #BeautyStandards #HighSchoolDrama #SelfAcceptance #SocialIssues #AppearanceBias #Anime2023 #KoreanAnimation #NetflixAnime #IdentityCrisis
