Undoubtedly one of the most iconic symbols of Thailand. The beloved tuk tuk. These tuk tuk’s appeared as early as the 1870’s in Thailand and can be seen throughout many countries in Asia. We have taken a number of them over the years but never did we think we could get the opportunity to DRIVE one!! It sounds mad and a little terrifying (Shev was super nervous) but surprisingly easy to drive since it was electric and really quiet. We were lucky to meet an amazing tuk tuk driver Alan who has been a driver in Chiang Mai for over 10 years! He told us many stories about his experiences as a driver and even learnt English because of it. He even sang a song for us. His favourite food and song “Khao Soi” He really loves this northern delicacy so much that he wrote a song about it! We had so much fun today and were practically crying we were laughing so much! Alan was the life of the party and made our experience so worth while and expected little to no money! Of course we had to give him a generous tip from the heart!
