Snakes and Ladders Review ｜ Suchin Mehrotra ｜ THR India

Suchin Mehrotra dissects Amazon Prime Video's Tamil series "Snakes and Ladders" in his latest review. The show, created by Kamla Alchemist and Dhivakar Kamal and produced by Karthik Subbaraj, follows four young friends in Rettamugadu, Tamil Nadu, as they navigate a dangerous situation after accidentally causing a burglar's death. Mehrotra compares it to "Stranger Things," highlighting its potential for dark comedy and thrilling plot twists. However, he critiques the series for its excessive length, unfocused narrative, and tonal inconsistencies. Despite praising some engaging moments and the young cast's performances, Mehrotra ultimately finds the show falls short of its promising premise.
