Jigra Movie Review ｜ Anupama Chopra ｜ THR India

Anupama Chopra reviews "Jigra," the latest film from director Vasan Bala, starring Alia Bhatt, for The Hollywood Reporter India. This jailbreak drama attempts to blend emotional sibling bonds with thrilling action and suspense. Anupama praises Alia Bhatt's powerful performance as Satya, a determined sister on a mission to save her imprisoned brother. The review highlights the film's strong opening, beautiful cinematography by Swapnil Sonawane, and effective music by Amit Trivedi. However, Anupama notes that as the narrative shifts into jailbreak mode, the plot becomes less convincing. Despite some narrative shortcomings and underdeveloped characters, the review acknowledges the film's artistic merits and Alia Bhatt's commanding screen presence.
