Delhi Dehradun Expressway gets ready for traffic

Road travel from the national capital of Delhi to Dehradun will be cut down to 2.50 hours from the current travel time of six hours, once the much-awaited Delhi-Dehradun expressway (NH709B) is opened for traffic next year, officials said. Officials of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) said that work was going on its 20-km corridor out of the total length of 213 km—from Dehradum to Biharigarh in Saharanpur—and trail on it has also begun. “If everything goes as per plan, the expressway will be opened for traffic in the next two months,” said a senior officer of the NHAI.
